Opening day on the Mediterranean coast — 114 km of rolling roads with two Cat 3 climbs. Calum Johnston (LI NING STAR) sprinted to the win in 2h 39'. The peloton split repeatedly through the climbs but reformed for the finish.

All five JPC riders made the start line and all five crossed the finish — a clean opening day. Rizqi (54th) was best classified at +2'20"; Cahyadi and Abdurrohman came home in the chase group; Zulkarnain and Torisz brought up the back of the peloton. JPC 14th of 18 in the team classification.
First UCI race in Europe for this group, and an honest first day. The peloton tempo was a clear step up from what we see in Asia — the climbs were the story, and the riders who handled them were the riders who made the front group at the line. Five out of five finishing on day one is the result that matters. The legs are there; now we learn to read European racing through the next three stages.
A flat 124 km loop ridden at high tempo from the start — winning average of 47.43 km/h is a sign of a controlled bunch race with the sprinters' teams shutting down attacks. Arvanitou (TEAM UNITED SHIPPING) took the win in a tight finish.

Rizqi sat into the bunch and stayed with the front group all the way to the line — 27th, same time as the winner. A real signal of European racecraft from a 19-year-old. The other JPC riders were further back in the second group on a windy, fast day.
This is what we came to Europe for. Rizqi reading the bunch correctly through the closing 30 km — staying covered, surfing wheels, never panicking when surges went up the road — is exactly the skill we want him to come home with. 27th in the front group at a UCI 2.2 race in Europe at 47 km/h average is a result that doesn't show up in the headlines, but it's the kind of ride that says he's ready for more days like this. We protect him on Stage 3 (the queen stage) and try to take another step on Stage 4.

For thirty minutes on a Turkish mountain, Indonesian colours led the polka-dot jersey of the Tour of Mersin. Haritz #122 attacked into the break and crossed the HC summit at km 53.3 first — ahead of European pro continental climbers who race these mountains every year · Algeria over · season over.
The descent. A shepherd's dog on the road. The kind of incident no race radio can prevent. Haritz down at speed. Race over. The injuries kept him off the start line in Algeria eleven days later — where the team went on to take the GC without him.

120 km of flat coastal road raced at 48 km/h winning average — Mustafa Tarakci (Konya) won the bunch sprint in 2h 30'. The break was caught with 15 km to go and the sprinters' teams locked the front. Rizqi rode the closing kilometres in good position and crossed in the front group.

23rd at a UCI 2.2 European race, in the front group, same time as the winner — the campaign's best classified stage finish and a step up from Stage 2's 27th. Three JPC riders home on the closing day after losing Haritz to the Stage 3 crash is the right way to finish a heartbreaking week.
The closing stage was the cleanest read of the week — Rizqi composed in the closing 30 km, Zulkarnain and Cahyadi staying in the bunch, a finish line crossed by all three. After the high and low of Stage 3, getting three riders home in the front group on Stage 4 was the result the morale of this trip needed. We came to Mersin to learn how UCI 2.2 racing in Europe actually works. We leave with Haritz's HC win on the team's record, his crash a wound that costs us Algeria, and three young riders who can read a 48 km/h bunch. The next start is in eleven days. This same group goes there minus one.

Three days in Anhui against Burgos-BH, Euskaltel-Euskadi and 15 other Continental teams — the highest UCI category JPC has raced this season. Dimas Nur Fadhil Rizqi came out of it 3rd in the Asian Riders Classification and 25th overall.
